I, a film journalist and critic based in India, have known Stephanie Cornfield since 2021, the year when we first collaborated. From one film festival to another, what began with the Venice Film Festival, continues with the Cannes Film Festival and more. Her profile shots of the filmmakers and actors definitely lifts the way my articles have looked, that appeared in Indian publications The Indian Express and Moneycontrol.com. The images she makes instantly draw the readers and onlookers into the mysticism that shrouds them and pries into the subjects' personalities, from an angle only Stephanie's lens seem to capture, unlike many profile photographers out there. It's not just about the person being captured but about storytelling. She's a storyteller and her pictures speak a thousand words. There's a certain shadow play, dancing of lights, something dark and mysterious about these images, which tell many stories of their own, these shots are very cinematic, all of that is a Stephanie hallmark. She can make static elements move and freeze moving images. The subjects in her atmospheric, moody photographs and the subjectivity in which they are framed speak to you. She could very well be a female Wong Kar-Wai in how she visualises her subjects and creates an ambience around them that is so evocative. From her black and whites to her colour shots, her play with neon lights and mirror refractions, she's a rare contemporary celebrity photographer and stills photographer on film sets. She has captured the bests of the best in Hollywood, Bollywood and the world over, and yet her biggest plus point is her humility. She has no airs about her. That is a mark of a good artist. To let their work do the talking. It's about time the world saw her talent and gave her a place in the sun.

I met Stephanie at the 77th Venice film festival and I consider myself very fortunate to get the chance to be her assistant during the festival. Stephanie is very creative and passionate, a true artist with the soul of a rock star. With her talents of mastering the photo camera, her photos are always full of contrast and dramatically take you into the world of shadows and lights, in the poetic dimension of photography.
